Considering he failed his Guilford Grammar art class, Perth-grown Graffiti Artist, Stormie Mills has emerged as one of Australia’s most loved street artists. His style was before his time in school but he found his artistic strength when visiting New York as a youngster. The self-taught graffiti artist has a unique love for using dirt along with a restricted palette of black, white and grey as a metaphor for the city scapes and silver; He is an expressionist of isolation.
Stormie’s quirky characters convey an emotive narrative whereby the viewer is challenged to explore the intense texture of the life he has created. He prompts viewers to look within the layers of his work.
These days, Stormie’s work is mostly commissioned and he is becoming internationally recognised as a respected and established artist with exhibitions in London, Los Angeles, Berlin, Birmingham, Melbourne and Perth.
