“My painting process always begins within the pages of a sketchbook, with my personal experiences forming the foundation of what it is that I draw. I’ll sketch a concept that has been inspired by a story, person, landscape or idea, and then I’ll work to bring that to life on a canvas, wall or object. As you can imagine, I draw a lot. I’ve accumulated many sketchbooks that fill my bookshelves. You will rarely find me without a sketchbook; I take one with me almost everywhere.
The pages you’ll find below are more recent sketches with the exception of the ten characters. These were recently curated to create a collectable set of business cards for my Studio Manager, Aimee. Like baseball or basketball cards, each character is numbered with the idea that people can swap and trade cards in an attempt to collect them all.”
