Last night was the opening of ‘So Hollow, So Pure’ a breathtaking exhibition by Perth artist Kim Kim Kim, with a beautiful display of portraiture. In her first solo show the Korean born artist engages the viewer by exploring how our perception of portraiture has been affected by the digital age of photography.
After seeing Kim Kim Kim’s work at a group show earlier this year she immediately captured our interest with her powerful portraits painted primarily in oil with a dynamic colour palette, putting her forward as a new breed of exceptional artistic talent here in Perth. This was an incredibly anticipated exhibition with a vast amount of people filling up the relatively new Merenda Gallery which proved a perfect location for ‘So Hollow, So Pure’.
So Hollow, So Pure will be showing at Merenda Contemporary Gallery in Fremantle till the 29th of August. Click the buttons below for more details and Facebook event.
